"We Don't Give A F**k About The Money!": Simmons Has Lost HOW MUCH This Season?

Ben Simmons has held out the entire season from the Philadelphia 76ers, still working out on his own, apparently readying himself for the trade that even he himself now doubts is coming this month. According to a special insider report by ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, in continuing his pledge to never again play for the Sixers, Simmons is undeterred that the team continues to fine him for missing games, now totaling over $19M.

‘We don't give a f*ck about the money,’ one source close to Simmons says,” reports Shelburne. "If you believe in what you're doing and that this is not the right situation for you," the source continued, "and you're trying to get to a better place, the money doesn't matter. Obviously it's a financial hit. But you adjust."

Simmons is also still harboring resentment over the fact that his superstar running mate, Joel Embiid, essentially threw him under the bus after Simmons' playoff implosion last year. Shelburne explains:

According to sources close to Simmons, he's upset that Embiid seemed to blame him for last season's playoff loss, when Simmons did not blame Embiid for Embiid's poor showing in the playoffs against the Toronto Raptors in 2019.

Shelburne also says Simmons is "skeptical" that Sixers president Daryl Morey will trade him before the Feb. 10th deadline, "because of his previous pursuit of (James) Harden -- who can become a free agent this summer."

So Simmons continues to work out with his own personal team of trainers, waiting and waiting for the call that might still be six months away.
