NBA Investigating Troubling Josh Giddey Rumors

The NBA is now officially looking into allegations that surfaced over Thanksgiving of Oklahoma City Thunder star Josh Giddey having an improper relationship with an underage girl. 

The NBA is looking into the allegations of Oklahoma City’s Josh Giddey having inappropriate relationship with a minor that have emerged via social media, league spokesman Mike Bass said.

The rumors went viral on Thursday after some social media posts showing Giddey, 21, with the girl in question, who's alleged to be 15 and a junior in high school.

There is no confirmation or official word on the girl's age or any other details at this point, but the league is now looking into it. As for Giddey, he was mum on the subject at Thunder practice on Friday.

"I understand the question obviously, but, no, no further comment right now."

Giddey coach, Mark Daigneault gave a similar answer: “Personal matter, and I have no comment on it.” 

If true, this could be a brutal blow to a young, exciting Thunder team that's appeared to be ready to take the next step into being true contenders. 

The former No. 6 overall pick (2021), Giddey is averaging 12.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists this season, and the Thunder are 11-4, good for 2nd spot in the Western Conference.
