Top 4 Trade Destinations For Donovan Mitchell

The Cleveland Cavaliers are doing everything they can to re-sign Donovan Mitchell, even firing their head coach JB Bickerstaff, whom Mitchell is said to have been "frustrated" with.

But with one year left on his pact with Cleveland, there are no guarantees he will stay, and there are some big-name teams lined up to trade for him if the Cavs are forced to move him. Here are the 4 top trade destinations:

Los Angeles Lakers

Naturally, the Lakers are in the market for another superstar to team up with LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and Spida would be ideal if they could pull it off. It would ultimately cost them Austin Reaves as part of a package, and it would also depend on what happens with D'Angelo Russell, who can opt out of his $18 million contract for next season and become a free agent in July.

Brooklyn Nets

The Nets have plenty of first-round picks to offer, courtesy of their Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving trades over the last couple of years, plus some very serviceable rotation players. If they're looking to pair up Mitchell with Mikal Bridges, the Nets could be a real threat.

Miami Heat

With considerable salary tax apron issues to worry about, the Heat would need to divest themselves of a ton of talent to make this happen, if they want to keep Jimmy Butler to team with Mitchell.

New York Knicks

Once a prime suitor for Spida, and essentially, the runner-up to Cleveland in the battle to trade for him from Utah in 2022, the Knicks might not need Mitchell any longer to be a solid contender in the East. But if OG Anunoby somehow escapes in free agency, they might re-think that and try to go all in for Mitchell once again.
