Kevin Durant & DeMarcus Cousins Battle Over Suns Fistfights in Locker Room
It's Kevin Durant's word vs. that of a Phoenix Suns teammate (and DeMarcus Cousins). The Battle Royal going on in the NBA on Friday comes to us from Boogie Cousins, who heard from one of Durant's teammates that the Suns were in such disarray during their brutal 2024-25 season that "multiple fistfights" broke out in the locker room during the year.
The Phoenix Suns reportedly had multiple fistfights in the locker room this past season, per @boogiecousins

KD then decided to take up Boogie on this rumor, and responded on Twitter (X), calling the report "bullsh*t."
I have to contest this 94 footer. This some bullshit to throw on us. Yea yea yea we were trash this year ha ha ha but we NEVER got close to this. NEVER https://t.co/JfjA7wmLa7

"I have to contest this 94-footer. This some bullshit to throw on us. Yea yea yea we were trash this year ha ha ha but we NEVER got close to this. NEVER," wrote Durant.
However, Cousins, who's known a thing or two about controversies and scraps during his combative NBA career, doubled down, insisting that it definitely happened, per a Phoenix player. He denied, however, that it was KD involved in the fisticuffs.
The source was one of your teammates killa. 🤷🏿♂️ And I wasn’t referring to you! . Save this shit for the others homie…

From the sounds of it, Durant won't have to worry about his Suns teammates for much longer, as he and the team are working hard on finding him a new destination on the trade market. He has already, however, shot down one trade, and is apparently not ready to give the okay to another team that's got a big offer on the table for him.
The Suns had a dreadful season with their so-called 'Big 3' of Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, finishing 11th in the Western Conference at 36-46.
