ESPN’s Insane 4-Team Trade Proposal Lands Giannis Antetokounmpo in Golden State

Is Giannis Antetokounmpo still a trade candidate? If so, ESPN's Zack Kram (h/t Julian Ojeda of ClutchPoints) has proposed a four-team blockbuster that would land the two-time MVP and 2021 NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors to team up with Steph Curry to get the Dubs back to the winner's circle.

The wild hypothetical deal would look like this:

Golden State Warriors receive:

  • Giannis Antetokounmpo

Los Angeles Lakers receive:

  • Draymond Green, Daniel Gafford

Dallas Mavericks receive:

  • Gabe Vincent, 2031 first-round pick (via Lakers)
  • 2025 second-round pick (No. 41)

Milwaukee Bucks receive:

  • Austin Reaves
  • Brandin Podziemski
  • Jonathan Kuminga (via sign-and-trade)
  • Trayce Jackson-Davis
  • Maxi Kleber
  • 2029 first-round pick (via Warriors)
  • 2031 first-round pick (via Golden State)
  • 2030 first-round pick swap (with Lakers)

Naturally, the Bucks come out of this with the biggest haul, quantity-wise, having surrendered the best player (by far) in this proposed blockbuster. They'd get the best young pieces from the Lakers (Reaves) and Warriors (Podziemski and Kuminga), plus two first-rounders and a swap. They'll have reset their team for the future, in the post-Giannis era.

The Lakers would get a couple of players that would fit perfectly into their needs. Draymond Green would finally join forces with LeBron James, and provide the defensive leadership that this team lost when they traded Anthony Davis. In Gafford, they get a starting-capable center, which they also lost in AD.

The Mavericks are in need of help at the point with Kyrie Irving out for at least half the season with an ACL tear. Vincent could fill in, and then join him in the backcourt after Kyrie returns. The Mavs are already set at center with Dereck Lively II and AD, so can afford to give up Gafford.

And then there's Giannis. He would join Steph and Jimmy Butler for the most devastating Big 3 in the league—maybe of all-time. One last big swing for Steph and Butler to get a title.

Of course, this is all contingent on the Greek Freak finally being ready to leave Milwaukee, which, at latest report, he is still not ready to do.
