One Trade Candidate From Every Atlantic Division Team

The major wheelings and dealings of this NBA offseason seem to be pretty much in the books. Unless, of course, Giannis Antetokounmpo decides to shake up the basketball world and finally decides to ask out of Milwaukee

Short of that, we'll be looking at a Russell Westbrook signing here, a widely expected Al Horford signing there.

But that doesn't mean that some players are safe from trade rumors. Here, we'll go over one trade candidate from every Atlantic Division team, with the help of Sam Amico of Hoops Wire.

Boston Celtics

After already shipping out championship pieces Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis in order to get under the second apron, the Celtics still have other moves they could make. And according to Amico, "Anfernee Simons, without a doubt" is the main trade candidate to be next out the door. Even though he just came in the door, as part of the Holiday trade. That $27.6 million contract he'll earn this year might be too rich for the Celtics' liking.

Brooklyn Nets

Restricted free agent Cam Thomas is engaged in a stalemate with the Nets over his value on a new contract. Insider Jake Fischer noted earlier this week that his sources tell him that Thomas "is showing an increasing interest in playing out next season on a $6 million qualifier for the right to enjoy true free agency next summer." If he does that, he'd be a primo trade candidate.

New York Knicks

After the acquisition of elite Sixth Man Jordan Clarkson to fill it up off the bench out of one of the guard spots, it likely makes Miles McBride the odd man out, says Amico. McBride "is a good player who sometimes can be the odd man out in a minutes crunch. That probably won’t improve after Jordan Clarkson signed on. That makes McBride the name to watch here."

Philadelphia 76ers

Quentin Grimes showed in his 28 games in Philly last season that he can be a legit starter. Unfortunately for the still-unsigned RFA, the Sixers and Grimes' camp aren't close to working out a new contract for him. And he is in high demand around the league, leading one to believe that a sign-and-trade could be coming.

Toronto Raptors

It'll be a sad day for Canadian basketball fans, but it seems like the depth at the wing spot could force the Raptors to trade Toronto-born RJ Barrett. His name has been in trade rumors all offseason, even though he's done nothing but perform at an elite level for them in the year and a half he's been there. Barrett averaged a career high 21.1 points and 5.4 assists to go with 6.3 rebounds per game this past season. He deserves better than to be squeezed out of his hometown after performing so well for the team.
