NBA Rumors: Kevin Durant To Meet With Brooklyn Nets Owner

It's been a full month since Kevin Durant requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets. There has been no shortage of rumors, most of them revolving around the exorbitant asking price the Nets have placed on a deal. Now, with trade talks seemingly at a standstill, Durant will reportedly meet with Nets ownership.

The meeting, according to Steve Bulpett of Heavy.com, is to discuss the status of his trade request. “What I’m hearing is that KD is going to meet with the owner this week,” the source told Heavy Sports. “He’s going to go directly to the owner, Joe Tsai, sometime this week. We’ll see how that works.”

Durant originally named the Phoenix Suns and the Miami Heat as his preferred destinations, but when the Nets were unable to get the return they were looking for from those teams, front offices all over the league threw their hats in the ring. But no one has been willing to meet the Nets' price. And in fact, many have been upset about their star players' names getting leaked.

“I think there’s some teams that aren’t very happy that when they talk to Brooklyn it gets in the papers,” he said. “That doesn’t help. I’ve talked with a couple of teams that are not happy with the rumors that creep out of there through all this. It’s not a good way to do business.”

Could be an interesting meeting of the minds when KD and Tsai meet.
